Nous avons besoin d'une femme presidente
(above is Germany's female President Angela Merkel, #1 of Forbes Most Powerful Women List)
I'm going to be a straight-up feminist for a moment. I didn't major in business or economics or anything solely political, but this is what I gather based on what I know and have researched: We need a female president, or at least some kick-ass female leaders on Wall Street, which is currently void of the respected female presence. It's a frustrating concept that the world will continue to be led by compulsive, divorced, disgustingly rich men for the rest of our lives. Look where it's gotten us so far. And the scary thing is with these men in charge, it's bound happen all over again. Every single person involved in the collapse of Wall Street was a male between the ages of 36 and 66. Almost all of them are addicted to cocaine, dangerously impulsive spending, lying, and prostitution, and I can confidently say that that would not be the case if we were dealing with women.
Women of Michelle Obama power could care less about male prostitutes or snorting up cocaine. We get the same highs from different means of accomplishment, attention to detail, and recognition. Obviously I've never been a politician, but I have been around the same temptations as any other man and I'll say it again, this would not have happened if women were in power. Hundreds of women have been elected President in other countries like Brazil, Iceland, China, Ireland, Germany, Chile, and Switzerland.
I think Peggy Olson on "Mad Men" summed it up quite well with this line, "What is it with you men? You're like dogs; you all have this compulsive need to pee on everything." Or something like that. Our voices may not be as deep and authoritative and we have protective fat cells over our ovaries (tummy pooch), but do have a higher tolerance for pain since we have to give birth (and wore corsets), thus a stronger sense of self, maturity, and common sense. It all adds up. We're better suited for the jobs of power because of our self control and careful, detailed ways. Husbands have been admitting it for years: "99.99% of the time, they're right and we're wrong." Take that seriously for a moment. It's daunting how correct it is.
